Following the ship’s christening ceremony on October 23, Carnival Cruise Line’s newest cruise ship Mardi Gras has had a busy journey. Mardi Gras made a call to her home nation with the ship’s godmother, Miss Universe Dominican Republic, on board.

Despite the fact that the Mardi Gras has been sailing since July 31, 2021, it is the first trip since the ship was eventually christened on October 23 in Port Canaveral, Florida, right before the current journey began.
The Mardi Gras is docking at Amber Cove, Dominican Republic, where the vessel’s godmother, Miss Universe, Dominican Republic, Kimberly Jiménez, hails from.

The significance of the visit was enhanced by Carnival Cruise Line President Christine Duffy presenting a $25,000 contribution to the Nios de Cristo home for girls in La Romana, which is a personal cause for Kimberly.

Mardi Gras made a noteworthy stop in San Juan, Puerto Rico on October 26 (the day before). The ship was greeted by incumbent Miss Universe Puerto Rico Estefania Soto-Torres and the upcoming Miss Universe, Puerto Rico, Michelle Colón, with Miss Universe, Dominican Republic aboard.
Due to ongoing delays since the cruise initially ceased operations in March 2020, the naming ceremony in Port Canaveral was a much-anticipated occasion. Mardi Gras Cruise Director Mike Pack and legendary ship line Ambassador John Heald hosted the event, and both are on the current cruise. Some highlights may be seen below:
The Mardi Gras will visit San Juan, Puerto Rico, Amber Cove, Dominican Republic, and Nassau, Bahamas on a seven-day Eastern Caribbean itinerary. The ship will arrive at Port Canaveral on October 30, 2021, after completing its journey. The next journey will be a seven-day trip to the Western Caribbean.

The new Carnival cruise ship is the first rollercoaster at sea and is the only one in the fleet fueled entirely by Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG). There are a slew of new eateries on board, including ones from Guy Fieri, Emeril Lagasse, Rudi Sodamin, and Shaquille O’Neal, the line’s Chief Fun Officer.
