Between October 2021 and April 2022, Carnival Corporation CEO Arnold Donald stated his firm has committed to making 110 or more ship visits to Jamaica.
The announcement was made during a meeting with Jamaican Tourist Minister Edmund Bartlett, local tourism authorities, and other top Carnival Corporation executives on Tuesday.
“Carnival is an important element of Jamaica’s tourist and economic revival. With the understanding that Jamaica’s Resilient Corridors provide a secure environment for our tourists, tourism employees, and the general people, we are witnessing a welcome return of vessels,” said Bartlett.

Despite the slowdown of travel across the globe caused by the propagation of the COVID-19 Delta version, the good news for the island country arrives.
Since the worldwide pandemic shut down the cruise industry for almost a year, many locations have welcomed cruise ships back. The nation has stringent regulations in place, including the need that all cruise passengers be completely vaccinated.

“We have been witnessing gradual increase towards pre-COVID-19 levels since the resumption of stopover visitor arrivals in June 2020, and now that cruise is back, we are looking forward to substantial growth in our numbers,” added Bartlett.
“It’s important to note that the cruises must adhere to stringent regulations regulating the resumption of cruise ships, which include requiring all passengers over the age of 12 to be completely vaccinated, as well as proof of negative findings from a COVID-19 test conducted within 72 hours of sailing. A PCR test is required for unvaccinated travelers, such as youngsters, and all passengers are checked and tested (antigen) before boarding.”
The agreement between Jamaica and Carnival Corporation is conditional on choices made by Jamaican authorities as the global health situation changes.
Carnival Corporation owns Carnival Cruise Line, Holland America Line, Princess Cruises, Seabourn, and Cunard, among other cruise lines.
