In the past, those interested in a brief tour could head over to the website and find a guide to help them plan a trip. Now, those who wish to find a tour operator can do so with a few clicks of a mouse.
I’ve always wanted to visit Las Vegas, an American city that is synonymous with gambling, debauchery and excess. As a result, my trip was long overdue; I’d planned on taking a road trip for many years, but didn’t have the funds to do it. That changed when I received the Chevy Bolt EV as part of Chevy’s #DreamDrive program.
I’m taking a journey from Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada to Las Vegas, Nevada, United States. Consider taking a road trip from Vancouver to Las Vegas if you want to experience the finest of British Columbia while also seeing some of the most beautiful mountains, woods, and deserts in the United States – few itineraries come close in terms of diversity.
The 2,300-kilometer journey from Vancouver to Las Vegas takes around 23 hours. Visit Seattle, Portland, and Mammoth Lakes, as well as Lake Tahoe, Mount Rainier, and Yosemite and Death Valley National Parks, to learn about nature.
There’s a lot to see along the road, so make sure you read all the way to the end to discover all there is to know about this route.
What is the distance between Las Vegas and Vancouver, and how long will the journey take?
If you follow the beautiful route through the Sierra Nevada, the road journey from Vancouver to Las Vegas spans approximately 2,300 kilometers (1,430 miles) and takes little over 23 hours to complete before adding time for breaks and overnight stays.
You might get to Vegas a lot faster if you bypass California and drive straight through Nevada, but the problem is that Nevada is a big state, and most of its northern section is rather desolate, particularly when contrasted to California’s vistas.
You can’t claim to have completed this road trip without spending at least one day in Lake Tahoe.

Portland and Seattle are two potential roadblocks – there’s no need to skip these lovely cities, but traffic here is notoriously crowded on weekdays and weekends.
It’s also worth noting that driving across the Sierra Nevada in the winter may be more difficult.
You can certainly accomplish it in the winter, but depending on the weather, some sections of the road, particularly Highway 395, may or may not be closed, prolonging your journey.

Before arriving in Southern Nevada, the ultimate road trip route from Vancouver to Las Vegas will take you via Washington, Oregon, and California. Try to spend at least a couple of weeks on this trip to make sure you’ve covered everything. there’s much to see
Route from Vancouver to Las Vegas for a road trip
Leaving Vancouver on Highway 99, cross the Fraser River before entering Washington and merging onto Interstate 5. Follow it through Seattle, through the Okanogan Wenatchee National Forest, and on to Portland, passing Mt. Rainier and the Olympic National Forest.
After there, travel south through the Williamette and Siuslaw National Forests until you reach Eugene. After passing through Deschutes National Forest, take Oregon Route 58 to US Route 97, which will take you through Crater Lake National Park and the Fremont-Winema National Forest.
To travel into California and onto State Route 139, use Oregon Route 39 for a little distance beyond Klamath Falls. After passing through a series of beautiful California woods, turn right onto Highway 395 shortly before Honey Lake.
Pass via Reno and Carson City, as well as Lake Tahoe and Yosemite National Park, on your way to Yosemite. You’ll arrive in Bishop not long after passing through the Inyo National Forest and Mammoth Lakes.
Stick on the roadway all the way to Kramer Junction, then go east to Barstow before taking Interstate 15 to Las Vegas, passing through the Mojave National Preserve.

There’s no avoiding the reality that you’ll have to stop somewhere between Vancouver and Las Vegas. Among the many beautiful resorts along the way, here are a few that stand out:
In Reno, you’ll have a once-in-a-lifetime experience.
Reno, although being smaller than Seattle and Portland, is a wonderful spot to stay since it is so near to some of California’s most beautiful locations. There are many excellent hotels in this area, but the Atlantis Casino Resort Spa is by far the most opulent.
The Atlantis has two swimming pools (the view from the “pool dome” is magnificent!) and a quality of service well above its price range. You’ll have everything you need to relax after a long day of traveling or trekking, including the opportunity to rent a jacuzzi suite.
Reno is a beautiful city that serves as the ideal warm-up for a trip to Las Vegas.

You’ll also have access to a range of spa services, including as massages, saunas, steam rooms, and other treatments. After you’ve finished your activities for the day, you may dine at one of the eight on-site restaurants, which range from casual to lavish.
The hotel is reasonably priced, as long as you don’t splurge at the on-site casino. Consider spending the time in the Fun Center playing a video game instead if you want to make things a little more relaxed.
Take a stroll along the Las Vegas Strip.
Sin City is the one location in the United States where you can get elegant lodging at a reasonable price. You could stay at any hotel along the Strip and have a wonderful time, but The Venetian is Nevada’s fanciest, loveliest, and most opulent resort.
The Venetian takes things to the next level with an authentic gondola ride to completely immerse you in its unique European flair. This, along with the resort’s fantastic concert halls, makes it one of the finest entertainment destinations in Vegas.
The Strip in Vegas is home to some of the best entertainment venues and resorts in the United States.

From the gorgeous bar and entrance to the 10 swimming pools and elegant rooms, the decor goes above and beyond to make you feel welcome. You won’t have to go out of your way to locate a casino since the one on-site is fantastic.
Multiple restaurants, a yoga studio, rock climbing, and a fantastic Strip location all add up to a reasonably priced stay. Individual services will undoubtedly cost more, but if you’re cautious, you may come out of the process relatively unharmed financially.

- North Cascades National Park — with everything from beginner-level trails to difficult, steep climbs, this is one of Washington’s most iconic mountainous regions (and that’s saying a lot!).

- Portland, Oregon’s biggest city, is an excellent addition to this beautiful route, thanks to its reputation as one of the country’s greenest cities.
- The Oregon woodland stretch is known for its many streams and tiny waterfalls, making it an excellent hiking and leisure area.
- Crater Lake National Park is one of Oregon’s most distinctive parks, and Crater Lake is one of the world’s deepest and most picturesque lakes.
- Medicine Lava Beds National Monument is home to the eruptions of Medicine Lava. The Lake Volcano is what gives this region its unique look.

- The vista from Hoover Dam, one of the most famous sites in the Nevada/Arizona region, is simply stunning.

When is the best time to go from Vancouver to Las Vegas?
The road journey from Vancouver to Las Vegas can be done at any time of year, but considering the amount of territory covered, it’s no surprise that some parts of the trip are best experienced at particular times of year.
With so many natural wonders to see along the road, you should do your homework if you want to travel in the winter — several of the route’s parks and forests are closed when it snows, including Tioga Pass, which shuts as early as November.
Summers in Las Vegas can be tough, if not downright unpleasant, particularly for a Canadian — with temperatures exceeding 100 degrees, July and August are not the ideal months to be out on the town.
Every road tripper should see the vista of the Las Vegas skyline in the evening.

The bulk of Vegas’ main attractions, though, are casinos and entertainment establishments. As a result, most of the activities to do in Vegas are inside, so the heat isn’t as bad as you would think.
Still, if you prefer warmer weather as well as less expensive lodging and celebrations, springtime may be the ideal time to go – temps in May shouldn’t surpass 90 degrees, so you should be able to have the party outdoors.
