Holland America is set to deliver the world’s first all-electric ship. Now, they are looking for a woman with incredible leadership skills to serve as godmother of their new vessel. The “holland america new ship 2021” is a cruise ship that will be built by Holland America Line. This is the first time that they have named a ship Godmother.
Her Royal Highness Princess Margriet of the Netherlands will be the godmother for Holland America Line’s next incoming ship Rotterdam.
The House of Orange (the present royal house of the Netherlands) has a nearly century-long relationship with Holland America, dating back to Prince Hendrik’s launch of Statendam III in 1929. Since then, members of the Dutch Royal Family have launched 11 additional Holland America ships, including Prinsendam in 1972, Nieuw Amsterdam III in 1983, Rotterdam VI in 1997, and Oosterdam in 2003, all named after Her Royal Highness Princess Margriet.

“We are honored that Her Royal Highness Princess Margriet will serve as godmother to another Holland America Line ship, continuing a long tradition with the Royal Family that honors our Dutch heritage,” said Gus Antorcha, president of Holland America Line.
“Next year, Rotterdam will be called in honor of its namesake city and our long-standing relationship with the Netherlands. We’re looking forward to marking the anniversary of Holland America Line’s founding.”

Queen Máxima, who named Koningsdam in 2016 and Nieuw Amsterdam in 2010, is another member of the Dutch Royal Family who is a godmother.
In 2008, then-Queen Beatrix acted as Eurodam’s godmother. Queen Juliana launched the Rotterdam V in 1958. Statendam IV and Prinses Margriet were named by Princess Beatrix in 1957 and 1960, respectively, while Nieuw Amsterdam II was launched by Queen Wilhelmina in 1937.

On October 20, Rotterdam embarks on a 14-night transatlantic cruise from Amsterdam to Fort Lauderdale.
Rotterdam will sail a range of five to 11-night itineraries spanning the southern, western, eastern, and tropical areas from Fort Lauderdale during its debut Caribbean season, which runs from November to April.
The ship will return to Europe in mid-April after a 14-night Atlantic Ocean trip, traveling from Amsterdam to Norway, the Baltic, the British Isles, and Iceland for the summer.
Fincantieri delivered Rotterdam to Holland America in July. In the following months, the date for the naming ceremony in Rotterdam will be revealed.

The “nieuw statendam itinerary 2021” is a new ship that Holland America has just announced. The ship will be christened by the Queen of the Netherlands, Princess Beatrix.
