Princess Cruises has unveiled a new original series, “Enchanted Princess,” that the company says is part of its commitment to innovation and creative storytelling. The 8-episode anthology show will feature guest stars from diverse backgrounds including music, fashion design, film and more.

Enchanting Princess, Princess Cruises’ newest ship, was christened in really enchanted form today with the premiere of a unique show, “Our Globe, Enchanted,” which was livestreamed to anxious fans, potential passengers, and cruise aficionados throughout the world. Enchanted Princess, the line’s sixth ship of the Royal class, started sailing on November 10, 2021, and is Princess Cruises’ seventh ship to set sail since the worldwide shutdown.
The Name of the Enchanted Princess
The naming ceremony for the ship was aired live on the internet as part of the “Our World, Enchanted” program, which is currently accessible on demand. This creative approach of reaching out to fans and include them in the celebration is great for such a forward-thinking ship.
The show, which is hosted by Princess Cruises Celebrations Ambassador Jill Whelan and Enchanted Princess Cruise Director Dan Falconer, introduces viewers to the MedallionClass ship’s innovative features and amenities, shares some Princess Cruises history as an industry and destination leader, and culminates in the official naming ceremony, which includes smashing a bottle of champagne on the ship to welcome Enchanted Princess into the fleet as senior officers and crew members.

Captain Lynn Danaher, Dr. Vicki Ferrini, and Jenifer Austin, three members of The Explorers Club who act as Enchanted Princess’ godmothers, were in attendance. The famous godmothers have been honored for their contributions to voyages, oceanography, and ocean mapping.
Ferrini is a senior research scientist at Columbia University’s Lamont-Doherty Earth Observatory, while Danaher is a United States Coast Guard Licensed Master and Dive Master. In Google Earth and Google Maps, Austin created the first virtual map of the ocean.

Broadcast of “Our World, Enchanted”
The 45-minute event, which included the naming ceremony, a tour of the ship, and intriguing corporate history, was streamed live on social media and YouTube, and is now available to watch on demand.
“This unique approach to naming Enchanted Princess honors our legacy of bringing people together and creating lasting memories on board our cruises by allowing us to share the excitement of the ceremony with more people than ever before while also giving Princess fans a closer look at our newest MedallionClass ship,” said John Padgett, Princess Cruises’ newly appointed president.
Padgett, Group President Jan Swartz, and Commodore Nick Nash all make cameos in “Our World, Enchanted.” Onboard the 145,000-ton, 3,660-guest ship, intimate video shows the ship’s beautiful interiors, stylishly decorated bedrooms, world-class entertainment, gourmet dining, and specialty drinks.
Behind-the-scenes footage of the ship’s construction, as well as amusing peeks around the ship’s many rooms and activities, were shown.

Princess Enchanted on the Move
The Enchanted Princess is the 14th ship in the current Princess fleet and the 100th ship built by Fincantieri in Trieste, northern Italy. Fincantieri is Europe’s biggest shipyard and a global leader in cruise ship building.

The ship set sail from Port Everglades in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, on November 10, 2021. She is now providing a series of 10-day Southern Caribbean itineraries that include stops in Curacao, Bonaire, St. Thomas, Antigua, Barbados, and other popular destinations. Special 20-day sailings from Fort Lauderdale are also offered, visiting a total of 13 Southern Caribbean locations roundtrip.
Enchanted Princess will cruise from Florida to Europe on a 25-day Scandinavia & Russia Grand Adventure itinerary, beginning with sailings from Copenhagen, Denmark, and St. Petersburg, Russia, on April 9, 2022.
